Laughter Foundation President & Founder to Pedal Bicycle 305 Miles from LA to Las Vegas all for Health Care for Comedians and The Comedy Museum

Hi there Comedy Lovers:

Yes, it’s true. On or about November 1st of this year, I will be pedaling my bicycle, starting in Los Angeles and going 305 miles through the Mojave Desert to Las Vegas, where on Novemeber 18th, I will produce a big charity gala for The Laughter Foundation. The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is a beautiful performance palace. The Laughter Foundation Benefit will take place at the Smith Center’s Reynolds Hall, an elegant 2,000-seat auditorium.

The purpose of the bike run and the benefit is three-fold:

A) To raise awareness for the need for Health Care for Comedians
B) To replenish The Heckler Fund, TLF’s emergency grant program for comedians in trouble.
C) COMEC: The Comedy Museum Exploratory Committee. To look into how to build a world-class museum dedicated to the study and exhibition of the art, history and science of Comedy. This is eventually a $25million project. Target city is San Francisco.

GREAT NEWS! AUBREY’S & SKYLER’S APARTMENT SAVED!!!

Just found out this morning we reached our goal of saving stand-up comedian Aubrey Kapree from being evicted (and little Skyler too)! I personally want to thank all the generous donors; you can’t possibly know how much this means to Aubrey, but also to the foundation. Everyone else, please keep up with all that’s going on with The Laughter Foundation and remember: “Never take life too seriously….you’ll never get out of it alive!”

Save Aubrey Campaign Nears Victory! (but, we still need your help!)

Thanks to all of you who already donated to the Save Aubrey Campaign. We’re just about only $300 away from saving Aubrey Kapree and Sklyer from losing their apartment. The good news is that Aubrey’s back rent is being paid by Cal Works; however she still needs to cover the legal costs of around $500. The Laughter Foundation has already raised nearly 50% of the funds needed to pay Aubrey’s legal costs, but we still need your help. Time is of the essence! Please go to the site, hear Aubrey’s story and let’s get this immediate problem solved. And, let’s help ALL comedians, even if they aren’t stars yet. Aubrey is funny. Her situation isn’t.
